Crisis Exercise and Planning Toolkit
Crisis Exercising | Emerging Risks Global

Why regular exercising is the most reliable test of any crisis plan
An untested plan is an assumption. Exercising is how organisations find out whether their assumptions hold: whether people know their roles, whether information reaches the right desk and whether decisions can be made at the pace a crisis demands.
Yet exercises are often seen as hard to design and harder to run regularly, so they happen once a year, if at all. The ERG Crisis Exercise and Planning Toolkit is being developed to change that.
What the Toolkit Will Include
Ready-to-run exercise scenarios across a range of threats and hazards
Facilitator guides, injects and timelines
Templates for planning, observation and debrief
Guidance on capturing lessons and tracking improvements
Planning templates aligned with recognised business continuity and crisis management standards
Who It Is For
The toolkit is aimed at resilience, security and business continuity leads who want to run credible exercises in house, as well as organisations that want a structured starting point before commissioning a larger exercise.
